Regional Development Australia (RDA) Moreton Bay is continuing to work alongside the Strawberry growers of Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions.
Following the success of ‘the Sweetest Job’ campaign (www.thesweetestjob.com.au) that helped growers find suitably qualified local employees, RDA Moreton Bay is again partnering with this business cluster to support new product development, research into automation processes and improvements to waste management practices associated with the significant volumes of plastic planting mulch.
RDA Moreton Bay will partner with community groups and agribusiness industry representatives to apply for training and development funding from the Queensland government’s ‘Skilling Queenslanders for Work’ program. This program has the potential to train and place up to 100 locals into jobs across the agribusiness and food sector.
The strawberry industry is continuing to employ suitable locals on a short-term basis and we are gearing up for the 2017 intake of new, eager and keen workers. If you are interested in knowing more about the projects and opportunities associated with our work with the Strawberry industry contact Anthony Dow, Business Cluster Manager, firstname.lastname@example.org.
