Join us as we celebrate International Women’s Day and the annual BPW Candlelighting Ceremony
Background: Not long after founding BPW, Dr Lena Madesin Phillips launched the Candlelighting Ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate women’s achievements, and it has become a moving and meaningful annual ritual for the many BPW clubs across the globe.
Our guest speaker at the event, Marny Cringle, will be sharing her amazing story of courage and resilience in the face of real adversity.
Marny survived after being hit head on by a train and sustaining multiple traumatic injuries. Giving up was never an option for Marny who came to understand the power of goal setting, having a positive attitude and determination.
Despite the odds against her Marny became independent before returning to work, becoming a champion athlete and being successful in achieving many of her goals to date. Becoming a published author will be her next achievement as her book is in the hands of her publisher as we speak.
Marny will be challenging us to look within: Are we making the most of our life? Do we believe in our capabilities?
The main messages from Marny wants to demonstrate include:
1) The importance of a positive attitude
2) The importance of believing in yourself – you are capable of more than you realise
3) You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to do the best that you can
4) Live your life as an exclamation!
You won’t be able to help but be inspired. So join us.
