LATEST GRANTS

Global Innovation Linkages program Round 2

Provides matched funding to assist Australian businesses and researchers to collaborate with global partners on strategically focused, leading-edge research and development projects. The program will support projects focussed on developing high quality products, services or processes that respond to industry challenges.
Amount Available: up to $1 million (up to 50 per cent of eligible project expenditure

Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Export Hubs

Objective support the establishment and/or operation of SME export hubs (export hubs) in the six Growth Centre sectors: Advanced Manufacturing, Cyber Security, Food and Agribusiness, Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals, Mining Equipment, Technology and Services, Oil, Gas and Energy Resources. Also to support SME development through facilitation of export opportunities and working with the Growth Centres.
Amount Available: From $150,000 up to $1.5 million (up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs)

Safe Work Australia People’s Choice Award

The Safe Work Australia People’s Choice Award Grant Program is a short-term, competitive grant program run as part of National Safe Work Month. Shortlisted applicants will be offered a grant agreement valued between $2,000 and $20,000 for their project or initiative. People’s Choice Award and may receive additional funding of up to $5,000.

2019 Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month Community Grants

Small Business Digital Grants Program

Matched funding of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible businesses for the purchase of hardware, software and services (such as digital coaching). The minimum grant funding is $1,000.

CSIRO Kick-Start

The CSIRO Kick-Start program provides matched funding to Australian start-ups and very small SME’s to undertake research activities with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), including:
•researching a new idea with commercial potential
•developing a novel or improved product or process
•testing a novel product or material.
Must have been a registered company for less than three years or have an annual turnover of less than $1.5mil for each of the last three years.
Amount Available: up to $50,000 matched funding

Landing Pads program

Provides Australian start-up businesses with a workspace for up to 90 days in a global innovation hub. The space includes access to coaching, investors, customers, training opportunities, tailored networking events and state-of-the-art facilities to develop their business model.
Landing Pads are an initiative of the Australian Government’s National Innovation and Science Agenda to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship.
The program will establish Landing Pads within global innovation hubs, including San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Shanghai, Berlin and Singapore.

Incubator Support – Expert-in-Residence

Provides business incubators with grants of up to $100,000 to access top quality research, managerial and technical talent through incoming and outgoing secondments of national or international experts. This expertise aims to increase the capabilities of incubators and improve the chance of commercial success for start-ups in international markets.
Funding available: up to $50,000 (co-funded)

MATURE BUSINESS GRANTS

Entrepreneurs Programme: Innovation Connections

Provides businesses with access to a highly skilled facilitator, for the purpose of reviewing the business’ research needs. If required, the facilitator will connect the business to expertise with the research sector and help to define a project scope. Must have an annual turnover or operating expenditure between $1 to $1.5 million
Funding available: From $10,000 to $100,000 (co-funded)

Entrepreneurs Programme: Business Growth Grants

Provides businesses with matched funding of up to $20,000 for the cost of hiring an expert to help with implementing the advice and strategies recommended through the Business Evaluation, Growth Services, Supply Chain Facilitation or Tourism Partnerships programmes.
Funding available: up to $20,000
Closing date: Ongoing

Entrepreneurs Programme: Growth Services

Provides businesses who have a growth opportunity with access to experienced Advisers and Facilitators delivering Growth Services who will work with them to develop their unique growth plan. Advisers/Facilitators will mentor the business through the implementation of their plan, facilitating access to knowledge and expertise, research, funding and other assistance.
Funding available: free access to experience Adviser/Facilitators

Business Growth Fund Program

Funding of up to $50,000 (excluding GST) is available for eligible businesses to purchase and implement highly specialised equipment or services. These purchases should enable businesses to move to the next stage of growth.
Funding available: up to $50,000 (co-funded from 25 to 50%)

Business Development Fund

The Fund’s investment is a direct investment in the business, it is not:
a payment to the co-investor
a grant
a loan.
Both the co-investor and the Fund will become shareholders in the same company, holding shares with identical rights. The Fund will hold this investment until the Fund’s shares are bought out through a merger, acquisition or initial public offering.
Funding available: From $125,000 to $2,500,000

MATURE/START UP BUSINESS GRANTS

Resource Recovery Industry Development Program: Stream One EOI

QLD is already home to a wide range of council and privately-owned resource recover centres. Stream one offers dollar-for-dollar capital grants of between $50,000 and $5 million for existing operations to fund new infrastructure or processing and technological capabilities

Resource Recovery Industry Development Program: Stream Two EOI

Along with upgrades to existing operations, it’s also important that QLD expands those operations and attracts significant new facilities to our state. Stream two offers broad incentives to attract or expand major resource recover operations that will divert considerable amounts of waste from landfill and recover valuable resources. Stream two applications are a two-stage process, beginning with an eligibility assessment.

Resource Recovery Industry Development Program: Stream Three Detailed Application

It’s also important that we plan in detail for the next generation of resource recovery projects. Stream three offers support towards capital-intensive, long-lifecycle projects that require a contribution towards investigations to assist with investment decisions for QLD.  Stream three applications are a single-stage detailed assessment process.

Export Market Development Grants Financial Year 2018-2019

The EMDG scheme encourages small and medium-sized Australian businesses to develop export markets
reimburses up to 50 per cent of eligible export promotion expenses above $5,000 provided that the total expenses are at least $15,000. Provides up to eight grants to each eligible applicant.
Funding Available: Up to $150,000 per application
Closing date: 30 November 2018

Advanced Manufacturing Early Stage Research Fund (AMESRF)

support small-scale and pilot research projects in advanced manufacturing, and benefit smaller firms and early stage research. The fund will provide grants to SMEs for rapid initial feasibility testing, allowing the projects to then move quickly to larger-scale research or commercialisation.
Funding Available: from $100,000 to $400,000
Closing date: 30 June 2021

Safe Work Australia Sponsorship Program

Proposed activities reach and influence Safe Work Australia’s target audiences and align with Australian WHS Strategy. Sponsorship under this Program can include the receipt or provision of goods, services, cash, intellectual property or expertise in return for negotiated benefits. This includes applications for us to provide a speaker or subject matter expert at your event.
Funding Available: Not specified but does have criteria for under $10k and over $10k

Payroll Tax Rebate – Apprentices and Trainees

If your apprentice and trainee wages are exempt from payroll tax, you can also claim a payroll tax rebate that reduces your payroll tax amount for the particular liability(periodic, annual or final return).
Amount Available: 50% rebate

Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Program

The Program contains a range of employer incentives and personal benefit payments to Australian Apprentices.

Back to Work Program for Employers

Entrepreneurs Programme: Supply Chain Facilitation

Supply Chain Facilitation services are tailored to assist and enable eligible Australian small and medium businesses to participate in domestic and global supply chains, generate sustainable business growth and find opportunities to connect and network with their customers.

Entrepreneurs Programme: Incubator Support – New & Existing Incubators

Provides new and existing business incubators with grants of up to $500,000 to assist Australian start-ups develop the capabilities required to succeed in international markets.

Rural Economic Development Grants

Rural Economic Development Grants are available to fund rural economic development projects that contribute to primary production related economic development and job creation in rural areas. The Queensland Government program offers emerging projects up to $250,000 in co-contributions to build industry and grow employment opportunities across the agricultural sector.

2019 Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

Grant applications are now open for the 2019 Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. If you’re 18-35, this is your chance to apply for a grant of up to $22,000 to fund your project on an innovative or emerging scientific issue that will benefit Australia’s primary industries.
Amount Available: up to $22,000

Round 4 Rural Research and Development for Profit

To be eligible for grant funding, Rural Development Corporations (RDCs) must partner with one or more researchers, research agencies, RDCs, funding bodies, or businesses. The RDCs invest in RD&E across many primary industries including meat and livestock, dairy, grains, horticulture, fisheries and forestry. The 15 RDC’s are Australian Eggs Limited, Australian Meat Processor Corporation, Australian Pork Limited, Australian Wool Innovation, Cotton Research and Development Corp, Dairy Australia, Fisheries Research & Development Corp, Forest and Wood Products Aust., Grains Research & Development Corp., Horticulture Innovation Aust., Livecorp, Meat & Livestock Aust., AgriFutures, Sugar Research Aust., Wine Australia.

Wine Australia is inviting small and medium Australian wine businesses to apply for the Wine Export Grants program

Managing Farm Risk Program

The Managing Farm Risk Program provides rebates for advice and assessments to help farmers prepare and apply for a new insurance policy that assists with the management of drought and other production and market risks.
These one-off rebates will be for half of the costs incurred by eligible farm businesses, up to a maximum of $2 500 (GST exclusive). The rebates are not for insurance policy premiums.

Farm Investment Loans – Provides farm businesses with loans of up to $1 million to help them build and maintain strong, resilient and profitable businesses

Farm Management Grants QLD

Provides Queensland primary producers with a rebate of up to $2,500 to cover up to 50% of the costs to seek professional advice regarding succession planning.

First Start Loan-Primary producer

First Start Loans (no fees, low interest rates) can help you:
* Acquire your first farm business – can help your first steps towards achieving this goal by assisting you purchase a property or supporting your leasing or share farming arrangements.
* Become a partner in the family farm – can assist you to purchase property from your parents or other family members, or enter a family partnership.

First Start Loan – Commercial Fisher

Loan can assist you in the early years of establishing your first commercial wild-catch fishing enterprise. Obtain the finance you need to enter into a wild-catch fishing enterprise or become a full-time commercial wild-catch fisher.

Safer Communities Fund Round 3 – Early Intervention grants

Provides state and territory peak Police Citizen’s Youth Clubs, Bluelight organisations and Youth Off the Streets with grants of up to $2 million to deliver local crime prevention activities that address anti-social behaviour and/or racial or religious intolerance by at-risk marginalised youth.
Amount Available: up to $2 million

Safer Communities Fund Round 3 – Infrastructure Grants

Provides local councils and community organisations with grants of up to $1 million for security infrastructure activities to address crime and anti-social behaviour in public or community spaces.

Stronger Communities Programme – Round 4

The Stronger Communities Programme provides each of the 150 federal electorates with $150,000 to fund small capital projects that improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant viable communities. In consultation with their community, each Federal Member of Parliament must identify potential applicants and projects in their electorate and invite them to apply for a grant
Funding available: $150,000 for each of the 150 federal electorates

Patagonia Environmental Grant

Patagonia Australia funds only environmental work. They are most interested in making grants to organisations that identify and work on the root causes of problems and that approach issues with a commitment to long-term change
